Restored MIAMI DIGGER, Orange/Black 1932, with crate/stand

The work schedule of the VINTAGE AMUSEMENTS restoration studio includes one last Miami Digger restoration coming available in mid to late November of 2009. It can be finished in any one of the 4 original color schemes. The one shown here is Orange/Black. (Other colors are shown listed separately.)

You may choose a color scheme and secure a right of ‘first refusal’ of the completed restoration by submitting a modest $300. deposit.

Your deposit grants a first look at a set of images of the completed restoration in your color scheme choice. If it meets your approval, you pay the purchase price balance of $2350. plus flat-rate shipping charges and it will be sent to you prepaid by a premium carrier. If it does not meet your expectations it will be placed for sale on this website and your deposit will be returned.

The digger mechanism will be completely restored by dis-assembly, refinishing each part, and re-assembly using new cloth-covered electric wire and a new motor. The case will be finished in the color scheme of your choice, including the etch-glass background mirror. It will play dependably and smoothly and will do so forever in home/collection use.

("I think this make of digger is more enjoyable to play than either the all-mechanical carnival machines or the fully electric machines because it gives the player skill-control over the sweep of the crane as well as the in/out movement of the crane boom during the electric cycle". - Jim Roller)

Here is a list of the extras that are included with this purchase:
- A replica shipping crate which can be used as a display stand if wanted.
- An illustrated Owner's Manual.
- Photocopies of the Original 1932 Patent Documents.
- A signed Certificate of Provenance (the digger was in storage over 57 years and only ever owned by the inventor, his daughter, and James Roller).
- A 43 page historical booklet about the inventor and the digger with 13 old photos and illustrations titled "William Dana Bartlett's Miami Digger"
- Flat Rate shipping within the continental U.S. to your door by a premium carrier for $145.

Place a deposit by selecting the MAKE A PAYMENT catagory or by selecting this item and going directly to checkout. In the "Add a Note" box below give your color scheme choice (this one is Orange/black). You will receive a confirmation of your right of First-Refusal by return email, or an immediate refund of your deposit to your credit card or your PayPal payment if a prior deposit takes presidence.

The price shown below is your deposit amount. The balance ($2350.) is due on approval of the completed restoration in your color scheme.
