Long before plush toy cranes appeared in operation everywhere there were hand-controlled machines like these operating for a nickel on counters at drug stores, taverns, arcades, and carnivals. Today they are popular collector items and this wonderful example will make a unique addition to a home game room, office, or even a business location like a museum, tourist attraction, café or specialty store (with an optional 25c coin mechanism installed).
This example is a full fledged electric-drive model of the iconic Erie Digger which was first produced in 1926. The sheet steel cabinet in fresh red enamel and polished trim contains a mechanism that is virtually new, having a new motor, wiring, and parts. It is durable and dependable for years of operation ahead, and is guaranteed 100% for parts and labor for life.
The dual controls make this model much more enjoyable for the player than the original mechanical model. The player can control the location of the claw left/right and in/out by using both the turning handle and the skill button on the front of the machine.
The coin slide is a proper 3-bolt new-old-stock part and accepts the 1930s – 40s standard coin per play – one nickel. If desired, the coin mechanism can be replaced with a 25c type before shipping for a modest charge (enabling the digger to pay for itself in a commercial location).
The merchandise shown in some images can not be included with this low price, but is available.
